The selection process is made of 3 steps.
During the 1st and 2nd steps, the selection of the projects is based on an application form and a video. For the 3rd step, Laureate projects are selected based on an on-stage work-in-progress presentation and an interview with circusnext’s artistic jury.
Step 1 - National Pre-Selections
National committees (composed of professionals and local artists) meet to examine applications received from their territory.
Step 2 - European Selection of Finalists
The European Selection of Finalists is held in Paris: circusnext Platform members meet to select 12 Finalists projects.
Step 3 - Selection of Laureates
During the Selection of Laureates at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale (Paris), the 12 Finalist companies present a work-in-progress in front of circusnext's artistic jury, Platform members and further professionals and are interviewed by the artistic jury. The latter chooses the 4 circusnext Laureate projects of the year.
circusnext Revelations 2023
The "circusnext Revelations" event is when the 4 Laureate companies present their work-in-progress to general audience at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale (Paris) .
