“circusnext is a small team in Paris<\/strong>, along with their board members and a great number of artists and partners throughout Europe, who work together to create and defend contemporary circus which deserves to be better recognised. <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Our team runs \u201ccircusnext Platform\u201d, the only platform dedicated to contemporary circus<\/strong> supported by the European Union: 24 members<\/strong> (creation & performance venues) in 15 European countries<\/strong> and a jury of artists<\/strong> join their forces to ours to identify emerging authors who create original and unseen circus. Together, we support these artists in their creation process and present their works to the public.<\/em><\/span><\/p>

When our team talks about circusnext, boldness<\/strong> is the key word. The boldness of all those who are part of circusnext. First, the boldness of the artists<\/strong> who venture down the path of research and creation, and who take the risk of revealing work in progress to audiences, sometimes at a very early stage of their creation. Then comes the boldness of circusnext’s juries<\/strong>: they select creations in-the-making, of which they do not know the final form, but through which they foresee artists who may reinvent circus. There is also the boldness of circusnext partner venues<\/strong>. Because they too encourage reinventions in circus arts, they host these promising artists in residency and show their creations to their audiences who are curious to discover new circus forms. Finally, there is the boldness of the audiences<\/strong> who come to discover the works of artists they don’t yet know, allowing themselves to be surprised by the unexpected. <\/em><\/span><\/p>

circusnext<\/strong>\u00a0is a one-of-a-kind association born out of the “Jeunes Talents Cirque” programme initiated by the French Ministry of Culture during the \u201cYear of Circus Arts\u201d in 2001-2002.\u00a0<\/p>

circusnext leads and coordinates the\u00a0only circus platform project supported by the European Commission<\/strong>\u00a0which gathers\u00a024 member venues\u00a0<\/strong>from\u00a015 European countries.\u00a0<\/strong>They cooperate together to\u00a0identify emerging authors\u00a0<\/strong>who generate\u00a0unique and original circus creations,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0 to support\u00a0<\/strong>them in the\u00a0making and circulation of their works.<\/strong><\/p>

Over the years, circusnext has become in Europe an essential programme for the\u00a0development of contemporary circus<\/strong>. The supported artists have distinguished themselves by the richness and originality of their aesthetic approaches, as well as their appetite to experiment.<\/p>

Today,\u00a0circusnext is a European circus label<\/strong>, a guarantee of artistic excellence that contributes to the recognition of contemporary circus across Europe.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
