jet-tabs-icon\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-circle-right\"><\/i><\/div><div class=\"jet-tabs__label-text\">SUPPORT<\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"jet-tabs__content-wrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"jet-tabs-content-2551\" class=\"jet-tabs__content active-content\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-hidden=\"false\" data-template-id=\"false\"><div><div class=\"p-rich_text_section\">Any emerging artist, whose production is based in Europe, may apply to the circusnext support program with any type of<strong> circus creation in progress.\u00a0<\/strong>All creative contexts, types of forms, formats, duration, aesthetics, subject, target audience, <strong>all circus disciplines and all interdisciplinary endeavours between circus and other art forms <\/strong>are admissible (except acts).<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><div class=\"p-rich_text_section\"><span aria-label=\"\" class=\"c-mrkdwn__br\" data-stringify-type=\"paragraph-break\"><\/span>Projects are mainly discussed according to the following criteria:<\/div><ul class=\"p-rich_text_list p-rich_text_list__bullet\" data-stringify-type=\"unordered-list\" data-indent=\"0\" data-border=\"0\"><li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"0\"><p class=\"p2\"><b>Originality of the project: <\/b>it could be a new approach to circus techniques, an original research process, the construction of an unseen artistic universe, etc.<\/p><\/li><li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"0\"><p class=\"p2\"><b>Authorship: <\/b>the ability to defend one&#8217;s work and artistic choices, the ability to position oneself and one&#8217;s work in the field of circus art, the need to create, etc.<\/p><\/li><li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"0\"><p class=\"p2\"><b>Coherence and relevance<\/b>: between one\u2019s artistic intentions and the way the project is structured, thought, how the elements that compose it are arranged, etc.<\/p><\/li><li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"0\"><p class=\"p2\"><b>Quality of the performance: <\/b>quality of movement, rhythm, stage presence, i.e. the ability to make the intentions of the proposal tangible on stage, etc.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>N.B: Please note that the definitions of the criteria are not limited to the explanations above which are here only intended for a better understanding.<\/p><h6><span style=\"color: #e30613;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h6><p><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Emerging circus authors (see our definition below) as individuals or company<\/li><li>European residents whose production is based in a Creative Europe country (see list below)<\/li><li>No age limit (min. 18 years old)<\/li><li>No circus degree required<\/li><li>Not be studying in a circus school after June of the year of application<\/li><li>No previous circusnext Shortlisted\/Finalists or Laureates <em>(if only pre-selected at the 1st step, you may re-apply)<\/em><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"p1\"><b>A legal structure is required <\/b>when applying and must be based in a Europe Creative country. You may be self-employed; in this case an official registration number is requested.<\/p><p><em>N.B: artists may only apply as an author with one creation project per edition.<\/em><\/p><p><strong>What projects?<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>All circus <strong>creations in progress<\/strong> except acts, from any circus discipline(s)\u00a0are admissible<\/li><li><strong>No premiere planned before the <em>circusnext Revelations<\/em> event in Paris<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Which country?<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The country of application mentioned in the form should be <strong>the country where the project&#8217;s production is based<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Eligible countries<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>European Union:<\/strong> Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands<\/li><li><strong>Other countries participating in the Creative Europe programme: <\/strong>Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Calendar requirements<\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022 Applicants should be available to present work-in-progress presentations on stage in Paris:<strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> 18<\/span><\/strong><b> to 24 May 2025: <\/b>Selection of Laureates\/ <b>12 &amp; 13 June 2025: <\/b><i>circusnext Revelations <\/i>event<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>\u2022 Not have their premiere before the Revelations event (13 June 2025)<\/p><h6><span style=\"color: #e30613;\">Emergence<\/span><\/h6><p>circusnext and its partners evaluate the notion of emergence depending on national contexts. It is a question of professional recognition, not of age. <strong>The evaluation is based on the artist&#8217;s previous professional creations as author.<\/strong><\/p><p>Artists may apply with:<\/p><ul><li>Their 1<sup>st<\/sup> or 2<sup>nd<\/sup> creation as author in France, Belgium, the Netherlands<\/li><li>Their 3<sup>rd<\/sup> creation in all other eligible European countries<\/li><\/ul><p><em>N.B: self-produced shows do not count.<br \/><\/em><\/p><p><strong>Visibility:\u00a0<\/strong>Have the artist&#8217;s previous creations (as author\/s) toured significantly at a European\/international level?<\/p><p><strong>Financial support:\u00a0<\/strong>Have the artist&#8217;s previous creations (as author\/s) received important creation subsidy from a public body?<\/p><p><em>N.B. Emergence criteria apply to all artists considered as authors of the creation project, but it does not apply to performers. Collectives including an author who is non-emerging, are ineligible.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/div><div id=\"jet-tabs-content-2552\" class=\"jet-tabs__content \" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-template-id=\"false\"><p><strong>Each year, circusnext organises an artistic selection in 3 steps, at the end of which 4 Laureates&#8217; projects are selected.<\/strong><\/p><h6>Step 1 \u2022 National pre-selections<\/h6><p><strong><em>Written dossier &amp; vid\u00e9o<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>The pre-selections is made on a written dossier and a video. Applications are discussed by national committees across Europe, composed of: circusnext Platform members, professionals and local artists. <br \/>Each committee can chose up to 5 projects (excluding France).<\/p><h6>Step 2 \u2022 European selection of Finalists<\/h6><p><strong><em>Same written dossier &amp; vid\u00e9o<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>The applications are discussed again by the 24 Platform members who gather in Paris. 12 Finalists projects are selected.<\/p><h6>Step 3 \u2022 Selection of Laureates<\/h6><p><strong><em>On-stage presentation &amp; interview<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>The 12 Finalists&#8217; projects present a 15 to 20-minutes work in progress on stage in Paris in front of circusnext Platform members and invited professionals. Based on this presentation and an individual interview, the artistic jury chose the 4 Laureates&#8217; projects.<\/p><\/div><div id=\"jet-tabs-content-2553\" class=\"jet-tabs__content \" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-template-id=\"false\"><p><strong>Visibility and support are provided to the artists at each step of our selection.<\/strong><\/p><h6>1 &#8211; For the pre-selected<\/h6><p><strong>Participation in a laboratory<\/strong><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Each lab gathers 6 to 9 pre-selected authors from different countries for 10 days and is facilitated by an experienced artist. The main goal is to bring authors to work collectively on each other\u2019s projects.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202f<\/span><\/p><p><em>Discover the previous labs <a href=\"https:\/\/circusnext.eu\/en\/circusnext-labs-return-in-2024\/\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p><h6>2 &#8211; For the Finalists<\/h6><p><strong>Financial support\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>A <strong>\u20ac3,000 grant<\/strong> is awarded to each finalist project.<\/p><p><strong>Creation support: residencies &amp; work-in-progress<\/strong><\/p><p>The 24 Platform members and circusnext offer residencies and work-in-progress across Europe. This support depends on the schedule and technical conditions of each project. There is therefore no maximum or minimum number of residencies possible.<\/p><p><strong>Participation in the Selection of Laureates in Paris on stage<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"p1\">The 12 Finalists are invited to present a 15-to-20-minute <b>presentation <\/b>of their artistic material in front of professionals and partners of circusnext.<\/p><p>This event also gives artists the opportunity to network, pitch their projects, meet, and exchange with circusnext European partners (Platform members), artistic juries and other professionals.<\/p><p><strong>Online training support<\/strong><\/p><p>Each year, various training sessions are organized online on different themes such as the environment, production, distribution, communication and press relations, etc.<\/p><p><strong>Networking and promotion support\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>circusnext also provides individual follow-up, and acts as an ambassador to the sector.
