Pre-selected authors are invited to take part in 10 days of collective research on their projects at one of circusnext Platform members venues, under the guidance of an experienced artist.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>Key numbers<\/strong><\/h6><p>Over the past 2 years: <strong>12 Labs<\/strong> in <strong>8 countries<\/strong>, <strong>88 participants<\/strong> including 51 women (58%) and 37 men (42%), <strong>59 projects supported.<\/strong><\/p><p>In 2023, the Labs took place from August to November and brought together <strong>46 artists<\/strong> from <strong>29 projects<\/strong> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circostrada.org\/fr\/members\/cirkorama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cirkorama<\/a> (Zagreb, Croatia), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarabanda-associazione.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarabanda<\/a> (Genoa, Italy), <a href=\"https:\/\/subtopia.se\/start-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Subtopia<\/a> (Stockholm, Sweden), <a href=\"https:\/\/la-grainerie.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Grainerie<\/a> (Toulouse, France), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espaceperipherique.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">l\u2019Espace P\u00e9riph\u00e9rique<\/a> (Paris, France) and <a href=\"https:\/\/upupup.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UP \u2013 Circus &amp; Performing Arts<\/a> (Brussels, Belgium).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h6><strong>Mentors<\/strong><\/h6><p>The mentors play a key role in the organization of the Labs: the work program is developed by the mentor according to his or her fields of expertise and the location chosen for the Lab. Therefore, even if they are designed with a common philosophy, each Lab is unique.<\/p><p><strong>11 personalities from the performing arts have been mentors for a circusnext Lab<\/strong> since last year: Darragh McLoughlin (artist), Kitt Johnson (dancer &amp; artistic director), Claudio Stellato (artist), Fatou Traor\u00e9 (choreographer &amp; director), Morgan Cosquer (artist), Marion Guyez (artist &amp; researcher), Delphine Lanson (actress &amp; artistic director), Albin Warette (actor &amp; director), Gael Santisteva (artist), Marta Tkatchuk (artist) &amp; J\u00e9r\u00f4me Dupin (actor &amp; director).<\/p><p>The Labs will return next year for the artists pre-selected circusnext 2025.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The circusnext Lab taking place at UP in Brussels (Belgium) from November 6 to 16 is the final Lab of 2023.
