Since its foundation in 2020, ON THE EDGE has been able to establish itself as a permanent fixture within the international circus landscape. Current developments in contemporary circus creation have been promoted and made visible. The goal continues to be the establishment of circus arts as an independent and innovative art form.

The focus is on the further development of circus techniques, the questioning of virtuosity, gravity and tricks, as well as the creative handling of aesthetics and dramaturgy. The festival promotes and showcases artists who mix circus with dance, performance or visual arts, dare to experiment and explore boundaries.
