Inbal Ben Haim · Laureate 2021
Inbal Ben Haim was born in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1990.
After learning dance, martial arts and plastic arts, Inbal discovered circus in 2004, first with the Free Dome Project and then with Cirque Shabazi. She found with rope an apparatus in which she can explore the verticality of movement, the richness of minimalism, and a language that is both physical and poetic.
In 2011, she left Israel to pursue her circus training in France: at Piste d’Azur, Centre régional des arts du cirque PACA, then at the Centre national des arts du cirque (CNAC), as well as through informal artistic encounters.
Inbal has participated in several shows performed in France and abroad, including Somewhere and Nowhere by Compagnie ON/Archaos, De Ses Mains by Compagnie Lunatic… She created her first show Racine(s) in 2017 in collaboration with director Jean Jacques Minazio and singer-musician David Amar. In 2019, they created the second part of the project: Racine(s) INDOOR.
In 2021, Inbal is a circusnext Laureate with her creation PLI. Born of a powerful encounter with visual artists Alexis Mérat and Domitille Martin, PLI explores new crossroads between circus and visual arts, using paper as the essential and primary substance of its creative process.
Questions of belonging, fragility and care, relationships with others and the never-ending transformation of things are at the heart of her work. Through her projects, Inbal develops a poetic and visual language through the encounter between body, matter and space.
How can we combine artistic, physical and visual research with educational and socio-cultural concerns, while questioning the place of the artist in today’s society? How can we build the artistic and creative act around the human encounter? Driven by these quests, Inbal weaves a sensitive path between artistic creation, transmission and encounters with a variety of audiences (school, medical and prison environments) in France, Israel and far beyond.

Barks company – Bastien Dausse
Bastien Dausse has found circus to be an ideal playground that brings together his passions: inventions and constructions, science and illusions, acrobatics and stunts.
Bastien trained at the Académie Fratellini, specialising in acro-dance, before perfecting his acrobatics with Lin Yung-Biau at the École des arts Chinois du Spectacle.
In 2014, he co-founds company Barks with François Lemoine. He creates the show “Les idées grises” in 2016, in which he delivers his artistic message with sets that defy gravity. Bastien continues his research with “Moon – cabinet de curiosités lunaires” in 2022.
(Dis)balance is at the heart of his work, and his “antigravity” proposals combine acrobatics with scenography, sculpture and science.
