Handstand, antipodism
Welcome to the Tube Cyborg world (50% human, 50% tube). A world where the human body is no longer enough, perceived as “too much” or “not enough”. A body whose limits and finitude have been recognised, and which has therefore been modified. A body without a fixed identity, a surface for reinvention, like a laboratory of otherness.
Through the tube-cyborg, Federica Peirone explores the boundaries between the organic and the inorganic, subject and object, normal and abnormal, a leg and a tube. What is the real difference between a leg and a tube? And what if there were none… how would that change the way we perceive and relate to the non-living?
Tu Be or Not Tu Be is a solo featuring Luna Lhomme as musician and tube assistant.
Federica Peirone is an Italian circus artist who trained at L’École de cirque de Lyon before graduating from the Centre national des arts du cirque (CNAC) in 2025. Since 2020, she has been combining hand balancing with object manipulation, working primarily with tubes. Her practice is driven by a keen attention to detail and a deep interest in the state of presence that hand balancing demands.
Federica is a member of Collectif Tombé du Nid, an emerging French circus company founded in 2026 by the 37th promotion of CNAC. The collective is currently carrying three circus projects, including Tu Be or Not Tu Be.
