Our local outreach
circusnext was selected by the City of Paris to run La Ferme Montsouris, a former dairy farm in the 14th arrondissement, and make it an accessible artistic and cultural venue opened to the local community.Â
At La Ferme Montsouris, circusnext will propose circus forms in an intimate and welcoming setting: insight into artistic creation processes, transmission, showcase, practice, etc. By bringing together local, national and international dynamics, circusnext will create a research and creation space for artists, and a place for audiences to discover the diversity and richness of contemporary circus.Â
Whilst waiting for the venue to open in 2024, circusnext has been reaching out to audiences in the 14th districts and its surroundings. In this perspective, since 2022, two companies have been collaborating with circusnext as associate artists:Â
– Defracto, artistic director Guillaume Martinet (circusnext/Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe edition 2009-2010)Â Â
– The Barks company, artistic director Bastien Dausse (circusnext edition 2015-2016)Â Â
Â
circusnext supports these associate artists in their creation and research in-the-making, invites them to be involved in the association’s local community projects and show their work in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and the Ile-de-France region, and promotes their work amongst professionals.
