Centre International des Arts en Mouvement
Since 2013, the Centre International des Arts en Mouvement (International Center for the Arts in Movement) has been located on the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence. It is an open-air space that aims to explore the recreation of links between culture and society.
Based on the circus arts, an artistic discipline that is both popular and demanding, its projects are organized around 4 major axes: teaching, innovation-research, accompaniment, and performance.
Today, the Centre International des Arts en Mouvement has 18,000 beneficiaries each year, and sees a wide range of profiles pass through its tents: Young people from the Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse (Youth Judicial Protection) who come to take part in circus practice workshops with their supervisors meet the Vice-President of Ubisoft, who is the jury for the CIAMLabs hackathon on the augmented circus. Researchers from the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), who are experimenting with the links between the human sciences and the circus arts, meet autistic children who have been accepted for a multi-year discovery program, while job seekers and company managers meet under for a recruitment workshop based on interpersonal skills… all this in parallel with the 450 weekly students of the circus arts amateur school and the 1. 500 children and teenagers participating in the various artistic and cultural teaching projects each year.
