European projects led by circusnext
circusnext’s support scheme has been co-funded by the European Union since 2009 and circusnext association has been the pilot and coordinator of several European projects. We are happy to share their documentation, which is rich in experience and resources for the contemporary circus sector.
circusnext platform – European platform, Creative Europe (2022-2025)

Currently gathering 24 member venues in 15 European countries, circusnext Platform identifies and supports emerging circus authors who develop unique creations. The 2022-2025 project aims in particular at helping the artists’ secure their professional paths.
To this extent, an annual selection process is carried out. Around 50 new emerging artists are pre-selected and invited to participate in artistic laboratories. Then, 12 companies are selected and awarded the circusnext label: they are supported in their creation and touring processes across Europe.

Coordinated by the circusnext association, this is the 1st part of the current platform. It brought together 28 members from 17 countries. The project’s website will become a window showing all the artists supported by the circusnext label over the last 20 years.
circusnext+ – Strategic Partnership, Erasmus+ (2018-2021)
Resources on skills
Carried out by 6 partners and with 5 associated artistic companies from 5 countries, this project identified and developed the skills of emerging artists as authors and project leaders, as well as those of the cultural operators who accompany these emerging artists.

Two editions of circusnext were held during the course of this project, supported by 8 co-organisers and some 40 associated partners in Europe and around the world. This is an opportunity to look back over four years of illustrated adventures and shared reflections.
