Maison De La
Bestiaire/Vestiaire
Antoine Linsale
THE PROJECT / Bestiaire/Vestiaire revives a historical and political form of live performance: the cabaret, while questioning and reshaping its codes in order to finally break down the gap between audience and performers. The stage becomes an agora, occupied and traversed by a diversity of gestures, stories, and voices – deliberately dissonant, contradictory, and alternative.
Through the prism of clothing, sleight of hand unfolds as methodical (un)dressing and explosive release of creatures unravel social injunctions thread by thread. Drawing from voguing culture, Maison De La preserves and perpetuates its spirit of solidarity, as well as its fascination with the fashion world – a realm that both attracts and excludes. Whatever they cannot access economically, they create through their own means and creativity.
