THE PROJECT / Now more than ever, we are encouraged daily to feel left out, as if the only way to truly experience life is to do everything and be everywhere. Loneliness washes over us almost effortlessly. How do we find connection and meaning in moments of solitude?

Within the confines of his mind, the acrobat invites us into his universe of exploration—a metal cube filled with thousands of interactive lights. Through his interplay with aerial straps, lights, and surroundings, solitude transforms into a landscape for playfulness, curiosity, and connection. Every flicker and shadow tells its own small story of reality.

ARBO is a symbiosis of circus arts, technology, and storytelling.

BIO / ARBO is the creation of Jef Kinds and Mia Drobec.

Jef Kinds is a Belgian artist driven by a passion for innovation in circus arts and using his work to explore social issues. After graduating from Codarts, Jef co-founded !UKBUM! and toured the performance MurMur with company Grensgeval across Europe and China. He’s devoted to aerial straps, exploring their duality of softness and roughness.

Mia Drobec is a Croatian creative producer with a decade of experience in embracing different roles. With an MA in Philosophy and Ethics, she loves diving into intellectual depths, asking “why” and stare out the window. She’s organised acrobatics festivals, taught movement practices, and co-led creative programs in Berlin. Mia is passionate about research, creative expression, and big ideas.
