Hoop, plastic tube, visual art
<3 (Smaller than three) is a contemporary circus performance combining visual and sound art, set on a stage filled with strange plastic tubes, spirals, and sculptural piles. <3 reinvents the hula hoop and deconstructs the expectations placed on female artists. A celebration of outrageous freedom, the joy of absurdity, and the power of connection.
Recover Laboratory is a multi-art collective and a forerunner of experimental circus and immersive performance in Finland, best known for their enormous labyrinths. Their surreal works and experiences are grounded in human connection, honesty, and the freedom that art provides. Susanna Liinamaa, Maiju Saarimaa, and Miradonna Sirkka, Finnish circus artists, share a background in circus education and a common practice in hula hoop.
Susanna Liinamaa and Inna Huttunen are currently developing two projects: Secret Island, a stage performance, and Bubble, an immersive experience.
Miradonna Sirkka is working on Nonstop Paradise, a performance that merges media art with experimental circus.
