circusnext’s selection 2024 has started!
The national pre-selection committees gather to choose the 2024 pre-selected projects.
While the 2023 Laureate projects were selected in Paris a few weeks ago, the first selection step for the 2024 edition is already underway. National pre-selection committees are gathering from May to July to study the 120 applications received this year. Each committee is composed of members of the country or regional platform, as well as local professionals and artists. 1 or 2 members of the circusnext artistic jury also attend to ensure cohesion in the selection process and enrich the programmers’ points of view on the projects studied.
Up to 5 projects are selected by each committee and debated again at the 2nd selection step, the European Selection of Finalists, in November.
N.B: The French committee is an exception, as the number of applications received is higher than for the other committees, so up to 10 projects can be selected.
